doll
Implementation
It didn't take much
planning on how this doll was going to be made, so most complications were
resolved already. Knowing I had some materials lying around the house I
accidentally dug up some coloured, fuzzy pipecleaners. I intended to ignore
the quifs but since I had a pipecleaner the right colour I settled for that.
After drawing out the doll
pattern myself I set out to find the things I still needed. The cotton and
the flannel were found at a cheap textiles shop at the arndale, and the
thin, yellow ribbon at a very good textiles shop nearby who supplied with
with my left-handed fabric scissors.
The body was stuffed with some old tights and sewn on the limbs to make her
arms and legs move. I intended the face to be painted on with fabric paints
or fabric pens but knowing me I'd mess it up. My mum suggested to hand
embroidery it on. While I drew her face on in pencil my experienced cross-stitcher
of a mum embroidered on her face.
The buns are stuffed with
cotton wool balls, and the frills are made of actual lace.
